Wax poetic seattle9/8/2023 ![]() ![]() I would imagine that a specific bike signal would take precedence over that, but I don’t know.Īmusingly, bike-specific signals don't yet exist in law, despite the many installations.īoth the RCW and SMC define signals by color and shape, and the bicycle-shaped signal faces aren't recognized in either code. ![]() all they did was fuel the fire, which is fine because the majority need to be tossed anyway, and thats a pretty standard opinion. they're already on shit lists for a large group of the community. context matters here, context as in the state of seattle and how we view our CM. People do not feel that their voice is heard. people do not feel like our officials listen. somehow, two people who had no plan on talking on the agenda before richard warrants disrespect to richard before they even know, he too, will not conform to the agenda. i dont think we'll come to an agreement because you somehow think the first example is just fine. to me, the first example is substantial proof of how CM REALLY view the common people who put them in council. I think there is two very obvious examples of how to handle this scenario. if i showed my respect to them by replying to work emails during the same time of discussing matters with them, i would get a call from my office and i would be fired if i did not change how i treated my customers. So when someone you are speaking to asks you to please look at them and stop playing with your phone, you dont view it as rude to continue to not look at them and to continue to play with your phone? ![]() But of course they aren't, because they are more than happy to have all their biases confirmed, whether honestly or not.Īnd majority of people are going to permanetely form their opinions on the CM based on that single video.Īnd that is what makes me sad about the state of our democracy. For something as important as government is, I think people need to be more careful about where their information comes from. This is akin to taking a film critic's statement that "the movie is a great failure," and just putting the word "Great!" on the poster. I think people have a responsibility not to accept everything at face value from dubious sources. It is absolutely crazy that we need to build our democracy around what someone might take out of context. That I'm looking down at it does not mean I'm not listening, nor that I am checked out of the topic at hand. I can access notes and email from my phone. People seem obsessed with the councilmembers using their phones, but I just see people working. I don't think they were being rude with him, just straightforward with yet another person who came to disrupt the council's business for personal reasons.
